Engineering Layer: Control Electronics

This Research Theme layer encompasses Technologies required to initialize, control, entangle, and readout the qubits (akin to circuits).

Becoming a serious centre of excellence in the quantum computing race requires us to apply our fundamental theories to the creation of hardware “prototypes”, and then turn our hardware architectures into functioning quantum computing systems.   Any quantum computing hardware strategy is accompanied by a set of incredibly challenging problems in the engineering layer. The saving grace is that addressing the control electronics problem requires common expertise, common that is, across all three hardware architectures.
